Frequently Asked Questions:

Q: Should I drink ACV before each meal?

A: Start by drinking it before your main meal, especially if the meal contains carbohydrates such as oats, pasta or potatoes. However, it can be drunk about 30 minutes before each meal. ALWAYS diluted!

Q: The ACV is really acidic, can I drink less at a time?

A: The taste is an indication of how acidic you are at the moment. If it’s really sour, it shows you that are your blood is slightly acidic.

If 1 tablespoon of ACV in a tall glass of water is to sour, start with a teaspoon and work yourself up to a tablespoon over time.

You can also add a little bit of raw honey in the beginning to help you enjoy it. Over time your blood stream will become more alkaline (less sour) and the honey will not be needed anymore.

  1. Thank you Bea. The information you have shared is great!

If someone struggles with reflux will drinking the water and ACV before hand assist in correcting this issue too?

I find the following confusing you could have ‘have high stomach acid’ or you could have ‘low stomach acid’ the symptoms are pretty much the same. Will eating as you have recommended above with ACV also help heal this unhealthy stomach acid imbalance?

    Warm regards,

    1. Hi Andrea! Thanks so much for this valuable question. Apple cider vinegar will definitely help with reflux because it increases the acid in the digestive tract. Most of the adverts on TV tells us that reflux is because we have to much acid, but it is normally the opposite. We need sufficient acid to break down food especially meat and or foods like pizza, and if we don’t have enough, the food stays undigested. This causes gas when it travels to the large intestine which pushes up the stomach acid.

Switching to wholefoods, and reducing ultra processed foods like white pasta and white pasta (you can still to wholegrain as it contains more fiber) will also help reduce reflux.

Another benefit of apple cider vinegar is that it’s fermented, therefore containing beneficial bacteria for your intestinal health.
