Balanced oat bowl

Servings: 1  |   Prep time: 15 min |   Cooking time: 10 min

Use this recipe as your template to make your own balanced oat bowls with your favourite ingredients. Make sure to add enough good fats (nut, seeds or nut butters) to keep your blood sugar stable to prevent any crashes in energy or mood after the meal.

Adding good fat & protein will support stable blood sugar levels.

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 ½ cups water (for cooking)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ tablespoon cocoa powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Himalayan salt
  • 1 tablespoon nut butter
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • ½ cup blueberries

Method:

  1. Cook the oats in a pot over medium heat (About 10 minutes)
  2. Add the cinnamon and cocoa powder and mix until well combined
  3. Transfer oats to your favourite serving bowl and decorate with seeds, nut butter and blueberries.
